Some of you may have wondered what the onijagers are while reading the first book, as I only mentioned them once in the first book. The Onijagers are an elite group of mercenaries that isolate themselves from the rest of civilization. Their only goal in life is to acquire more power. They could care less for status or money, for they need none, they only care about their next powerful weapon or piece of armor. There are only 10 onijagers in the world of Virceta and there can be no more. The only way one can obtain onijager status is by defeating one of them and taking the title.
A quick hint into future story is that one of the onijagers happens to be a brother of one of the main characters in the first trilogy.
